Popteen Magazine July 2016 Scans

♥ Popteen July 2016 Scans ♥ -- first post!

To kick off my first post, I decided the safest thing to do is to post magazine scans. This issue is about a month behind (August Popteen is out already, gah), but it gives me something to post!! Popteen has always been my favorite magazine. I purchased it locally in a Korean bookstore.

I do not claim ownership over any of these scans. This is not the full magazine; if you'd like to see the rest of this issue, make sure to purchase and support Popteen yourself! You can order it online through Amazon.jp, Rakuten, or sites like CDJapan and TOM.

This issue was decent. The theme of July was "Otome" -- mature cute. It also featured two sections with boy bands: an interview with Takanori Iwata (岩田剛典) from Exile J Soul Brothers, and a live report about K-Pop sensation iKON. I don't know too much about J-Pop, but I love iKON, so the flip out report section(?) was great! One cool thing they did this issue was a 'fake' Popteen cover with many of the current models and their profiles. They were really beautiful! Some models are really young though, lol. (Thinks about what I've accomplished at this age...) orz

The biggest summer trend seems to be denim. There are surprisingly a lot of pants and long skirts mixed in. Simple pieces seem to be more popular than busy prints. Makeup is minimal with natural circle lenses. This issue is pretty great for looking at a variety of hairstyles!

July 2016 also came with a free gift. It's a simple, reversible, two-sided clutch/pouch of the brand one spo. It's decently made and pretty cute! It can fit small makeup items and even an iPhone (only up to a 5s though, I think). I prefer the polka dotted clear side.

Enough rambling. Here are the scans!

(Sorry in advance for the wobbly bits. It was my first time scanning, and I tried my best.)

Popteen has obviously toned down a lot these past few years. It's more reminiscent of Vivi and Seventeen now more than the gyaru-centric magazines with the frequent feature of normal trendy fashion. I miss the OTT gyaru styles, but this is nice, too!

Thanks so much for reading my first post!! Please leave a comment telling me what you thought of this issue, and look forward to future posts! ♪
